About Us

Established in 1997, Special Sauce started out making corsetry from BS8 on Park St, Bristol. Early ready to wear pieces were influenced by the club scene, using industrial fabrics and reflective plastics. Commissions varied from traditional and contemporary wedding dresses to spectacular evening wear.

The move to Cheltenham Road in 1999, inspired the shift in direction towards more elaborate work. Evening wear and contemporary wedding dress commissions built our reputation for design, quality and craftsmanship. The ready to wear patterns were researched at this time too, adapted again and again, developing precise methods of construction and creating a shape that is both desirable and fits virtually all body shapes.

It was this research that gives us the confidence now to reproduce this shape. Moving the direction of the business again to provide corsets for online sales and stockist with our designs.

Special Sauce is proud of its reputation for good quality. Attention has been paid during the development of these designs to ensure durability, using the best components and fabrics available.
